The Sanguinary Discipline is the blood-and-wings witchery of Baal — the way a Blood Angels Librarian pours the Chapter's noble rage and its winged grace into psychic form rather than commanding the warp coldly. Its six workings run the whole span of the host's nature: a hurled spear of blood, the caster's own quickening, ghost-wings that carry him over the field, a shield of the Great Angel's light, a terror that breaks a foe's nerve, and the Red Thirst sharpened onto a brother's blade. Each is a Wyrd power, and each courts the warp's price for the one who calls it. At creation the Librarian picks or rolls one of the six from the table that follows, and adds to it the universal witch-blast of Smite.

| 1 | Blood Lance. The Librarian hurls a spear of crimson force in a straight line up to 12" from himself. The first enemy fighter the line crosses suffers a single automatic hit resolved at Strength 5, AP -2, Damage 2, and is thrown back by the Knockback of the blow. It is the discipline's one reliable killing lever. A hard, direct lance for a target no blade has reached — nothing like the arcing witch-blast of Smite. |
| 2 | Quickening. While this power is sustained the Librarian's limbs blur to superhuman speed: he gains +2" Movement and +1 Attack. It is the caster's own tempo lever, turning a witch who fights in the front rank into a blur of motion and blows — a self-buff that feeds the host's headlong drive toward the charge for as long as he holds it. |
| 3 | Wings of Sanguinius. Ghost-wings of blood unfold from the Librarian's back. Until the end of the round he gains Fly, and he immediately makes a free jump move of up to 6". It is the foot-caster's answer to the winged tiers he fights beside — the mobility grant that lets a Librarian keep pace with the descent, crossing broken ground and gaps the line cannot. |
| 4 | Shield of Sanguinius. A corona of the Great Angel's light gathers around the chosen fighter — the Librarian himself or a friendly within 6". While this power is sustained that fighter gains a 5+ field save against every attack. It is the discipline's defensive lever, single-target and action-costing, a shield of red radiance held over the brother who most needs to reach the enemy alive. |
| 5 | Fear of the Darkness. The Librarian projects the primal dread of the Angel's wrath into a single enemy fighter within 12". That fighter must immediately pass a Cool test or become Broken, turning to run for the nearest cover. It is the discipline's nerve-break lever — no wound, only terror, a lever that pulls a key foe out of the fight for a crucial round rather than killing him. |
| 6 | Unleash Rage. The Librarian focuses the Red Thirst of a chosen fighter — himself or a friendly Blood Angels warrior within 6" — into a sharpened edge rather than a wild fury. While this power is sustained that fighter re-rolls failed Wound rolls in melee. It is the discipline's friendly-offense lever, the curse turned deliberate: the same rage that drags the host forward, made to bite true on the enemy it reaches. |
