Psyker Powers6
The Watch Librarius is the battle-psychic craft of the Deathwatch, the narrow discipline its single seconded Librarian turns against the alien. He does not cultivate the warp for its own sake — he shields his brothers, empowers their strokes, and burns the xenos mind, and his witchery bites hardest against the prey the Kill Team has declared. Six workings pass through his hand: the scourging bolt, the ward-stripping null, the gift of strength, the prescient veil, the psychic shield, and the warp-step that carries the hunt where it must go. At his raising the Librarian takes or is granted one of them, and to it he adds the universal witch-blast of Smite.
| Roll | Power |
|---|---|
| 1 | Psychic Scourge. The Librarian looses a lash of focused psychic force at a single enemy fighter within range, and it suffers an automatic Strength 5, AP -2 hit as the killing thought lands. Against the alien the Kill Team has declared its prey, the same stroke bites far deeper — a Strength 7, AP -3 blow, the bane the Watch reserves for the thing it has come to end. It is the discipline's single-target answer, the witch-bolt that turns the hunt's focus into a wound no ordinary shot would open. |
| 2 | Null Zone. While the Librarian holds the working, the chosen enemy fighter and every enemy within two inches of it lose the protection of their invulnerable and field saves. The warded shells the alien trusts simply fail. This is the Watch's answer to the elite and the monster — the working peels away the ward, and the Kill Team's fire finds the flesh beneath. The harder the prey leans on its unnatural defences, the more the null undoes it. |
| 3 | Might of Heroes. While the Librarian sustains the working, a chosen brother — himself, or a friendly fighter close by — surges with borrowed strength: +1 Strength and +1 Attack. The warp pours into a comrade's arm at the instant of the kill. A veteran already deadly becomes something the prey cannot stand against. This is the offensive edge of the discipline, the will of the Librarian felt in another warrior's blow. |
| 4 | Veil of Time. While the working holds, a chosen brother moves a half-heartbeat ahead of the world: he may re-roll a single failed Hit each activation, and when he charges he always strikes first. The Librarian sees the blow an instant before it comes. He steers his brother's hand to meet it, folding a sliver of prescience into the fight. This is the tempo edge of the discipline — the whole difference between the stroke that lands and the one that comes too late. |
| 5 | Psychic Fortitude. While the Librarian sustains it, a chosen brother is wrapped in a psychic shield: a 5+ field save turns aside what armour cannot, and he cannot be Pinned. It is the Watch's ward against the alien's fire and its terror both — the Librarian's will made a wall around the one who most needs to stand. Guns or dread would break a lesser line. The fortress of the mind holds the brother upright, and in the fight. |
| 6 | Gate of Infinity. The Librarian folds space around himself and steps through the warp, removed from the field and set down again anywhere more than six inches from any enemy. It is the strike from nowhere in miniature — the psychic echo of the teleportarium the Watch rides into the ambush — carrying the witch to the exact ground the hunt needs him, past the wall, behind the line, or clear of a closing trap. Where the Kill Team's whole art is arriving unseen, the Gate is that art distilled into a single mind. |
