Psyker Powers6
The Librarius is the Codex discipline of the Adeptus Astartes as the Sons of Dorn wield it. Fortitude, foresight, the fortress mind. The Imperial Fists Librarian does not run wild with the warp — he disciplines it as he disciplines everything, favouring the workings that harden the line and strip an enemy's guard so the gunline can crack what it finds. Six powers pass through his hand: the fortress of the mind, the might of heroes, the veil of time, the fury of the ancients, the null zone, and the fortitude of Dorn. To them he adds the universal witch-blast of Smite. At creation a Librarian with access picks or rolls one of the six — each a Wyrd power that courts the warp's price for the one who calls it.
| Roll | Power |
|---|---|
| 1 | Psychic Fortress. The Librarian sets his mind around the line like a rampart. While the power is sustained, friendly fighters within six inches of him auto-pass their Nerve tests and cannot be moved, pushed, or knocked back by any enemy rule or attack — the wall does not flinch and it does not give ground. It is the fortress mind of Dorn's sons made manifest, the discipline that holds a position turned into a thing the enemy's fear and force alike break against. It is manifested as a Wyrd power, and holding it open courts the warp's own price. |
| 2 | Might of Heroes. The Librarian pours martial fervour into a chosen brother. While the power is sustained, the target friendly fighter within six inches gains one Strength, one Attack, and one Wound — swelling for a moment into a champion beyond even the transhuman baseline. On a chapter that would rather hold its guns than draw its blades, it is a corrective and not an excess: the one working that lets a Son of Dorn who must fight hit like the wall he defends. It is manifested as a Wyrd power, and sustaining it courts the warp's own price. |
| 3 | Veil of Time. The Librarian pulls a slice of the moments to come across a chosen fighter's sight. While the power is sustained, the target friendly fighter within six inches re-rolls its Initiative and its charge-reaction rolls and adds one to Hit in melee — foresight letting it move and strike a heartbeat before the blow it already saw. It is the fortress mind turned outward, the discipline of the wall reading the storm before it breaks. It is manifested as a Wyrd power, and holding the future open courts the warp's own price. |
| 4 | Fury of the Ancients. The Librarian looses a roaring wave of the honoured dead, a spectral tide that surges in a straight line eighteen inches out from where he stands. Every fighter caught beneath that line — brother and enemy alike, for the ancients do not sort the living — suffers a single automatic hit at Strength five, armour-piercing one. It is the Imperial Fists' psychic firepower answer, a gunline given the shape of a spell, the one working in the discipline that reaches out and kills at range the way the rest of the roster does with bolt and shell. It is manifested as a Wyrd power, and calling the dead courts the warp's own price. |
| 5 | Null Zone. The Librarian unweaves the wards that shelter a chosen foe. While that enemy fighter remains within twelve inches and line of sight of him, it cannot use any invulnerable or field save — the shimmering protection collapses, and the enemy stands naked to whatever the gunline sends next. It is the wall-cracker of the mind, the discipline's answer to the thing that hides behind an unbreakable guard, and it pairs with the Chapter's siege-craft so that nothing the enemy shelters behind is allowed to hold. It is manifested as a Wyrd power, and prising open the warp's own protections courts its price. |
| 6 | Fortitude of Dorn. The Librarian lends a brother the stubborn endurance of the Chapter's own primarch. While the power is sustained, the target friendly Imperial Fists fighter within six inches ignores the penalty of its Flesh Wounds and gains a Feel-No-Pain roll of six or better against harm — the stoic conditioning of Dorn's sons made psychic, the will that takes the hurt and holds the line anyway. It is the Librarius reflection of the Pain Glove, the discipline that never yields turned into a shield of the mind. It is manifested as a Wyrd power, and sustaining another's endurance courts the warp's own price. |
